TRAVELLER
DATA & SECURITY SUITE
In
an increasingly turbulent world it is vital for businesses
to be able to locate and assist their travellers at times
of emergency or crisis.
In
recent times we have seen major global events such as the
European Ash Cloud crisis and Mumbai terrorist attacks that
have directly impacted upon the safety and security of the
business traveller. At TMG Corporate we have implemented
the Traveller Data and Security Suite (TSDS) which allows
us to almost instantaneously pinpoint travellers, booked
through our systems, locations thus enabling us to make
contact with anybody who is potentially going to be affected
by an evolving situation.
It
became clear that TMG Corporate clients would benefit considerably
from an on-screen system providing instant, real-time access
to such information at the touch of a button. Such a facility
would not only provide the vital reassurance or, conversely,
signal a warning that a threat did exist requiring immediate
action, but also would help the company comply with the
duty of care aspects of corporate social responsibility
(csr) initiatives.
Our
location system comes into its own not just when a major
event is unfolding but also allows us to be highly proactive
across all development no matter how low profile, this includes
airport closures due to operational or climate issues or
the impact of strike action. In each scenario we can contact
affected travellers in many instances before they know there
is a problem.
Rotterdam
Airport closed due to fog? we'll run a report and contact
all travellers due to be flying in to or out of the airport
at the affected times to advise and discuss alternate plans

NEW:
WANT TO BE ABLE TO PRECISLEY LOCATE YOUR TRAVELLERS?
We have recently launched the Journeywatch system, in addition
to TSDS above. This new system, unlike TSDS, actually locates
travellers through GPS or telephone triangulation. The major
benefit of this new system is that it allows companies to
pinpoint the location of a traveller to a matter of metres
not just to a general location based on their booking data.
This is hugely beneficial at a time of emergency or crisis
as you can see whether you have any travellers in an affected
location but also track their progress away from danger.
Given
the privacy concerns of such a system it has been set up
so that the traveller themselves have the ability to turn
on and off the tracking data. As a company you can request
that a traveller switches the system on but you cannot do
this remotely, it must be instigated by the traveller.
An
added benefit of the system is also its ability to allow
you to send group messages, via email or sms, to all travellers
within a country. This could be particularly useful should
the British Foreign and Commonwealth office issue updated
travel guidance to that country or should mass demonstration
or strikes erupt.
