While the airport staff are making every effort to rectify the problem,  delays may be experienced when departing today. If you are travelling through Terminal 4 today, please contact your TMG account team before leaving for the airport for the latest information regarding temporary restrictions on checked baggage allowances.

All passengers have been evacuated and emergency services were at the scene immediately. The airport's southern runway is currently closed, but the northern runway is still in operation. If you are due to be flying from Heathrow Airport today please contact your TMG account team for up to the minute information on flights, delays are expected.</description><link></link><pubDate>Thu, 17 Jan 2008 13:51:31 +0000</pubDate></item><item><title>New security measures in place at some UK airports from January 7th 2008</title><description>The Department for Transport has approved new security arrangements at a number of airports in the UK. This means that at these airports the restriction previously imposed limiting hand baggage to one item per person will no longer apply with effect from 7 January 2008.  However, airlines apply their own operational policies governing the number of items of hand baggage which may be taken in to the aircraft cabin.

Before departing we strongly recommend that your contact your TMG Corporate account team for details of airline specific cabin baggage arrangements for your particular journey.

It is expected that all long-haul flights, and 90% of all medium-haul flights, will operate today, Tuesday 30 October 2007. 
Passengers are advised to check-in as normal for any flight departing from London Heathrow and Manchester. 
Flights departing from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Belfast City, Bristol, Dublin, Dundee, Edinburgh, London City, Newcastle and Southampton remain unaffected.

The Terminal and all approaching roads have been closed by the Police.

Terminals 1, 2 &amp; 3 appear to be operating normally at this time.
