Some
further Heathrow Terminal 5 clarifications below:
Uk
domestic flights security check
An update from last month's newsletter, fingerprinting for
domestic passengers at security has been dropped after the
information commissioner expressed concerns. Instead photographs
will be taken until a final decision has been made.
Ready
to fly
To avoid delays ALL passengers must pass through check-in
and security and be ready to fly at least 35 minutes before
their flight departs. If this deadline is missed the passenger
will not be allowed on their flight. THIS IS FOR ALL PASSENGERS
Passport
& Visa check for customers with hand luggage only
Passengers flying longhaul or taking a shorthaul flight
to Moscow, St Petersburg or Kiev who have checked in online
or at a check-in kiosk at Terminal 5 will need to go to
one of the Passport and Visa Check desks before going to
security. This is to ensure that any problems are dealt
with before security and do not cause any holdups. All passengers
with hold luggage will have their passport and visas checked
at a Fast Bag Drop or Customer Service Desk.

Thanks
to an agreement between Virgin Trains and T-Mobile Wi-Fi
access will now be available to all first class passengers
utilising Virgin's station lounges.
The
service means customers using first class lounges at London
Euston, Coventry, Birmingham New Street, Wolverhampton,
Stoke-On-Trent and Manchester Piccadilly can now access
the internet whilst they wait for trains. Wireless broadband
is planned to be rolled out across its actual trains and
routes later on in 2008.
| Also,
Virgin Trains is working on improving the quality of
mobile phone reception on board its trains. With over
10 upgraded trains already in service and more on their
way Virgin aim to be able to provide reception within
carriages that is equivilant to that outside. You will
be able to spot if you are in an upgarded carriage by
the special labels appearing on the laptop and phone
charging points. |
|
Please
also note that customers with Virgin Trains First Open Tickets
can also relax in other train operators' lounges at Newcastle,
Darlington, York, Doncaster, Leeds, Wakefield, Derby, Bristol
Temple Meads and Southampton Airport Parkway.

We
continue to monitor the situation regarding BA and Virgin
Atlantic's refunds of passenger fuel surcharges between
August 2004 and March 2006.
We
would still like to stress that this is still currently
being dealt with by the courts awaiting the final outcome
hopefully within the next few months. In the meantime though,
if this does affect your company, registering on www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk
will keep you regularly updated on progress.
As soon as the airlines implement the refund process, TMG
Corporate will assist with any appropriate information required.
